Frequently Asked Questions

How are your products made?

Each piece is individually hand-sculpted out of stoneware clay, and is hand-glazed before being fired in an electric kiln in Chicago.

I want to purchase a product that I don't see listed. Will you make that item?

Product options are constantly changing and are largely based on interest. If you are looking for this item, chances are someone else is too. Please use the contact page to send an email detailing what you're looking for, and you may see it on the website soon.

Unfortunately, custom commissions are closed at this time.

Where do you ship to?

Shipping is only available within the United States. This may change in the future.

How long will it take for my item to arrive?

Packages are shipped within 10 business days of your order. All packages are sent via USPS Ground Advantage.

What happens if my item breaks during shipping?

All packages are sent via USPS with insurance up to $100. If your item arrives damaged or broken, Starting Projects will file a claim with USPS on your behalf in order to refund you.

In order for this claim to be filed, it is extremely important that you keep all original packaging. Without documentation of these materials, USPS will be unable to adjudicate the claim, and you will not be eligible to receive a refund.

Please use the contact page as soon as your item arrives to start the claims process.

What happens if my item breaks at home?

While items that break after arriving in their new homes cannot be refunded, many types of epoxies and adhesives can be used to repair broken ceramic. E6000 is an excellent and affordable adhesive that works on ceramic and dries clear. It is available at Home Depot or any other hardware store.
